    facing the wall
    Lindsay Smith · 06/26/02 at 2:43 ET

I have been for sometime now been giving homework to my Hypnotherapy clients. The session usually runs something like this.

We have a brief chat about what 'the subject' wants to deal with in this session. I ask the 'subject' if there are any other matters they want to 'toss in the pot' as well.

I ask the 'subject' to sit on stool & face the blank wall. To simply just look steadily at the wall. If necessary I may comment on the posture - something such as sit erect, feet flat on the floor.

I ask two questions, "what are you thinking while you are keeping your gaze on the wall?" What are you feeling while you are looking at the wall?
