If "that universe" [my universe] isn't your own, Fred, then why the hell should I or anyone listen to your stubborn, relentless ranting about what it should feel like to be in it?

Before you remind me that you do happen to live in my world when particularly depressed . . . recall that your pessimism may derive from the depression rather than your temporary and unrepresentative presence in my universe.
