    Darwinism v. Neo-Darwinism
    by Laljit Sidhu, MA, 3/18/98

I am somewhat confused about the distinction between Darwinism and Neo-Darwinism. Could someone please explain this distinction and address whether this distinction is simply a matter of philosophical nuances or whether this has theoretically significant implications for EP?

My understanding is that Tooby/Cosmides, Dawkins, and Dennet espouse a Neo-Darwinist position, whereas Gould is a Darwinist ... which would imply that EP has its foundations in Neo-Darwinism. Is this a correct assessment?
