Thanks Ellen, Good point, Functional communication is a treatment for people who's behaviour challenges services. It is a method of teaching people with challenging behaviour to express themselves in more acceptable ways. e.g. a person with a learninng disability is taught to ask for help with a task instead of exhibiting self-injurious behaviour.
