On the Rate of Genetic Adaptation
    by Mat Huff, 7/30/98

What this brings into question then, for me anyhow, is what events cause a genetic adaptaion to occur? Equally as important is the RATE at which these genetic adaptations are to occur. Do they occur at regular or random intervals? Do they occur first to aid those parts of our anatomy that need the most immediate benefit, such as swifter legs or better tool-making capalities for food aquisition? When does the hardware catch up with the software? When will our genetic adaptations begin to catch up with our cultural advances?
