    Re:When is EMDR too soon?

As a general rule, EMDR proceeds only after a complete history, a review of a variety of safety factors to make sure the client has sufficient resources to pursue EMDR, and the establishment of a signficant degree of trust and rapport between therapist and client. There are specific procedures that any Level II trained EMDR therapist would know about to help you get ready and feel safe before you actually begin EMDR work.

While I can tell little about the first two items in you situation, it seems clear that the trust and rapport that I would want has not been developed yet.

I would encourage you to discuss this issue with your therapist and express you possible interest in EMDR (at least it sounds like your are interested from your post) and also you concerns and wish to proceed slowly.
