quote..... {There are a number of EMDR therapists who have elected to specialize in dissociative disorders and DID. These therapists have developed additional skills and procedures that they utilize with DID clients that are not taught in Level II training (since Level II training is not specific to EMDR work with DID or dissociative clients but covers work with a wife variety of clients) however, these skills are taught in workshops and seminars that take place regularly.} How do you know which of the EMDR therapist are trained or knowledgeable with DID or DIDNOS as well? Or that even after the theraipse does have Level TWO that they are competent. I got the list for Therapist in my area and called some and meet with a few. (one for 8 weeks) (one for 12 weeks) and ONE who in the 1st session wanted to do an EMDR quicky as he called it! I didn’t go back to him. I am now seeing another and the last He does have his Level TWO and also works with a national research team . Yet after almost 6 months, we are still unclear as to the treatment plan, or goals. I have written out what I’d like to work on, and what goals I have, and have confronted him on these concerns I have. At this point, we will be taking the next few weeks to evaluate just how he can be of help to me. This is so frustrating and expensive.
