Some but not all EMDR therapists know about the cognitive-behavioral interventions of hyperventilation and chair spinning for panic, - which may or may not work with flying phobia (only if there is panic involved). "Float back" is also known by some, not all, EMDR practitioners. It is not part of the training, but it is widely used to access early occurrences of fear. I don't know if caffeine will help you access the fear. Hypnosis may be a way to access it. In vivo exposure will do the trick -- meaning, .....real live flying. Hard to do EMDR while flying tho. Another strategy that many, not all, EMDR practitioners know about is resource development. In that approach the target is not the fear but rather adaptive comfortable and confident flying. You may wish to ask your therapist about these and other approaches.
