Your question is a complex one, and the answers are based on clinical impressions rather than controlled research. I'd ask you to review this forum as well as the archives to this forum, as their are a number of discussions that are roughly on point to your question. After doing so, if you have further questions, you can repost here. I'm out of town this weekend on an EMDR training, but will return on Monday, so will see your question then. In short, let me say that EMDR should NEVER be conducted on someone with DID without taking appropriate preparatory steps, and using the appropriate DID protocol, in order to avoid flooding due to to penetrating dissociative barriers without having first attained levels of safety, stabilization, containment, trust, and consent from the self-system.
