Mary, It looks to me that your concerns about trusting the therapist were ON THE MARK based on therapist's reactions. Trust yourself that your concerns were and are VALID. If you believe EMDR was helping you, you may wish to consider seeking a new therapist in a different agency/office. And right up front inform the new one about what happened with the old one. The reaction you get might give you the clues you need to help decide if he or she is right for you.
