I am a psychiatrist and would like to know if there is any anecdotal evidence or case report of emdr in subjects who are adult survivors of sexual abuse and were unfortunate to develop schizophrenia.I have also observed that such clients often have prominent affective symptoms and are more likely to be labelled as Schizoaffective. With the help of antipsychotics I am able to control most of the positive psychotic symptoms but then the risk profile virtually transmutates itself into risk behaviours like promiscuty, dissociative states(fire setting/suicide attempts)and PTSD symptoms .I have attempted CBT in one client with no change.I am not rubbishing CBT it is great for Depression OCD and anxiety but the drop out rate for PTSD was so high that I have Switched to EMDR with good results.By the way Iam level 2 trained in EMDR and have a good supervisor but she was not sure of any work in the above field
