It sounds like your therapist stuck very faithfully to the original EMDR protocol, which is a robust thing. It is most interesting to me that both of you just hung in there, without resorting (apparently?) to cognitive interweaves designed to get you unstuck more quickly. If you or your therapist can recall, when you finally moved those sticky last few SUDS -- were they core issues related to your most cherished defenses? did the shift come without cognitive interweaves? was it apparently preverbal or otherwise mother or daddy stuff? You needed answer any of this of course, but it is interesting.... thanks in either case, answer or not.
