    As was concluded in the 1/11/03 post by McFall (responding to Cahill's elaboration: There’s NO evidence that eye movement, or any alternating movement, is a necessary component of “EMDR”--all the evidence indicates there’s nothing unique about EMDR, and that it’s a rip-off form, with a few extra meaningless bells and whistles, of cognitive and/or cognitive-behavioral therapy.
