Diane,
I posted on 11/6 with questions about reiki/dissociation/emdr. Your posts are utterly fascinating to me. :) If you are so inclined, let me know what you think of my previous posts...
Since my mini reiki treatment I've been consistently able to "use" energy for pain management and other things. The treatment "unlocked" something in my head and body. I don't take the Level I class until Jan, which I had no intention of doing until this "unlocking" happened... so this is all a bit odd. But it works, so I am not going to argue with it!
What I find really interesting is your out of session use of the bls tapes. I use those tapes as well, and for the same reasons, although I could not have put it so eloquently. They facilitate internal dialogue -- hmmm, maybe by calming clashing energy fields from different parts...? Whatever the mechanism, I am able to communicate internally with the tapes in a way I cannot otherwise.
Lastly, about integration, I have had many integrations, and they are euphoric to begin with. I think of it sort of as "falling in love" -- i wonder if there are the same biochemical triggers... Things do eventually get dicey, but I've not had much backward movement. Once I integrate it seems to "stick" fairly well, even if rocky at points.
I would bet your reiki experience and regular use, has an enormous amount to do with your therapy going so quickly. After all, being a reiki practioner is, in itself, a form of seeking understanding and healing. You must benefit from what you give... isn't that part of the theory of reiki, of healing arts in general?
I know this post has nothing to with emdr... emdr is what led me to things like meditation and reiki, though...
