I believe that in situations where a client feels "goaded" that he/she has the right to share that with the therapist. I also believe that the total pictures has to be looked at. Is this how the client always feels, does the therapist actually spend a lot of time "goading", are other styles and techniques used and so on. My therapist has pushed me a bit in a variety of ways. I have also experienced softness, kindness and gentleness. We can discuss my response to his particular style on a particular day and can use the information from that discussion to further the work done in therapy.
