Nystagmus is a medical term for rapid eye movements that occur spontaneously. This has been reported to me by several clients after EMDR work, as occurring out of their awareness. It is as if some part of the self/brain is continuing the lateral movements of the eye to facilitate being, thinking, feeling, something.
