It sounds like you are off to a good start with this therapist and, to me, 6 sessions can be enough. However, you are obviously aware of your situation, and needs, and I would take the time to discuss these concerns before stepping further into EMDR. I would say that no matter what approach was to be used. I have found it useful to plan my time after an emdr session, I basically will not schedule anything for the rest of that day and the next. With 4 kids to raise this will be a greater challenge for you. So, discuss this with the therapist, develop some strategies and get some ideas in mind of how you can take care of yourself after a session. Good luck and keep asking the questions, after all you are paying for the therapy and you want the best you can get. Plus it is important to be informed and to take care of yourself.
If you are not comfortable yet with moving forward, then, don't do so. You know yourself best. Take the time to practice the relaxation and any other strategies you and your therapist come up with.
