There is no research in this area and reports have been mixed. Sometimes it takes time to re-regulate once the trauma has been completely healed. Sometimes it helps to keep a notepad by your bed and write down the first thing you remember when you awaken. Targetting that can help. Also, reports have been positive about using the resource development and installation EMDR protocol for insomnia. If your clinician is trained by the EMDR Institute she can get on the discussion list and request the protocol directly.
