The goal is to get to the dysfunctionally stored information in a safe and contained manner. There are a variety of ways into the network. It is also important not to look for only big "T" trauma. A variety of experiences--in all shapes and sizes can contribute to negative emotions/beliefs/behaviors/etc. One reason I suggested conferring with your clinician is that s/he must be clear on the overall conceptualization and procedural variations if you are to be treated effectively. If that is not the case, professional consultation for your clinician is available to guide the process. It would be counterproductive for anyone to try to guide your clinician without direct contact. Sorry if I can't be more helpful.
