Brian: The issues addresed in your posting in a rather lengthy manner have been for the most part addressed in this forum on previous occassions. In my opinion, discussing a specific study and its specific strengths and weaknesses is clearly of benefit to the majority of individuals using this forum. On the other hand, making overgeneralizations in the absence of good emprical evidence truly isn't science. Furthermore, there appears to be serious confusion on your part what the concept of power means in statistics. I recommend that you do some reading on the subject. Specifically, I am concerned that postings of such a lengthy nature which appear to be at least partly ill-informed, may result in reduced access to this forum for others (as noted in a posting above): "The forum's capacity was at maximum, due to our flurry of postings. The editor posted a note at the beginning of the forum about the technical difficulties. We are currently installing a new server which will enable us to have more elbow room."
