    Homework Compliance
    RSA · 5/13/98 at 11:02 PM ET

I was wondering what methods cognitive therapists out there use for increasing homework compliance. Am I the only one working with less-than-enthusiastic clients? I can usually sell clients on behavioral experiments and certain hypothesis-testing assignments, but with most forms of self-monitoring I've met with less success. I often struggle getting them to do even half of the typical number/format of homework assignments described in many CT books. The phenomenon seems to be pervasive enough to be more than just issues of resistance in a particular client. And I don't want to be punitive or "nagging" when clients don't comply. What do some of you do?
