"Such research wouldn't make sense?"

OK, I'll bite... Why wouldn't it make sense to do research to see if combining narrative therapy with exposure improves it's effectiveness? It seems as though it would be quite useful to know if the combined approach is equally effective, more effective, or less effective. Wouldn't such research help therapists decide which treatment approach to use?
