J. C., This is a question you can research quite well by doing an Internet search, using google or one of the other search engines. However, there will be some misinformation about any medical condition on the Internet, so you must evaluate your sources carefully. AFTER you do a subject search, and get some information, then you can ask specific questions about things you don't understand or wonder about. Your hunch is correct that some people view eating disorders as a type of addiction. Some people view every emotional problem as a form of addiction. I think you will find that the most reputable clinicians view eating disorders as a category of their own, while recognizing that the addiction approach may have a limited value. Perhaps some other participants can recommend specific books or other resources on eating disorders. But you need to do your own legwork first. Don H. Morris
