I hope this message is not too late. But, you seem a lot like me. I have a BA in psych and am going for my MAster's in Special Education. If you want to work with children with conduct disorders and have a background in psychology, a Master' will help u build on your knowledge in your expressed desire of working with "PDD" (Pervasive developmental disorder) children and others with other types of delays. I logged onto this site in search of ABA training techniques. It's the new methodolgy in Special ed. for children who have conduct disorders, are easily distractible and even for autistic kids. It's based on the behavioral psycholgy theory of classical conditioning. The premisis is that behavior can be learned and relearned based on positive or negative reinforcement. There are classes and a certificate to be obtained. Amazon has books. It's a highly effective teaching tool from what I've heard from friend's trained in it. Misty../Good luck. If anyone has anymore info. of suggestions please post them or contact me.
Thanks. Nice chatting with you.
Alisa
