I am currently working on a project entitled "Male Partners and the Psychological Sequelae of Abortion: A Psychodynamic Perspective." I am particularly interested in any response / information folks might have on this topic. Much of the research (for many years) has indicated no significant negative psychological sequelae of abortion for women. And in the main, the question of male responses has not been studied. It would be enlightening to hear Dr. Nathanson's response on how how the interpersonally-related, self-conscious affects are involved in the development of pathology related to the abortion experience. I encourage all responses either online in this forum, or through e-mail: Msimon@sfsu.edu. Many thanks.
