I see from your explanation that dismell and disgust are akin to shame/humiliation in that the trigger does not lie in the density of stimulus as it does for the six basic affects. Although the nature of the shame/disgust affect trigger was pretty well described in "Shame and Pride", the triggers for dismell and disgust were not so clearly described and I am having difficulty formulating a succinct description of the triggers for these two auxilliary affcets. Your response hasn't closed the gap for me. What exactly is happening when these two affects are triggered? How are the triggers distinguished?
