Dear Dr. Nathanson,
You may recall a posting earlier this year on the psychological sequelae of abortion in male partners. This was stimulated by a manuscript in preparation on that subject. While the work clearly draws on the work done in Control-Mastery theory (see posting in Control-Mastery theory section for a sampling), it also leans heavily on your (and thus Tomkins') work on affect, affect scripts and the mechanisms of emotionality. I found your work cogent, powerful and extremely heuristic in thinking about trauma response. It fits especially well with recent writing in evolutionary psychology and neurophysiology of nonconscious processing.
I want to offer you my thanks for your important work, and the pleasure of getting "up to date" postings of your thinking/current projects.
Thanks once again!
