Julie, my witty and omni-talented daughter, has performed a on Beverly Hills 90210 several times, and I've watched this much derided evening soap opera for no other reason then to follow her progress and kvell. Last evening's show revolved around Kelly's possible pregnancy and devoted equal time to her boy friend's reaction, dealing with a range of thoughts from "We could have lots of kids in the future but maybe we'd always feel that there's one missing" to "I'm only 22 and I don't think I'm ready to be a father." At every level, the show demonstrated that although the ultimate decision belonged to the woman, both partners were deeply affected by this unexpected event.

The concept behind your research is really ready for societal consideration as a personal, internal issue rather than one to be decided simply on the basis of "old books" and "old wisdom." If you write me (nathanson@tomkins.org) I'll send you the name of my agent and suggest to him that he give you all possible support.
