Vick, that was an extremely helpful, clarifying reply to my question. I appreciate it very much indeed. Your ability to explain things clearly and simply and patiently and warmly is a treasure you give to us. I really need to study Volumes I and II very slowly and systematically. Slow reading, savoring every confusing part and looking at it as if it were a puzzle that needed inspection from different angles, is the way I try to study difficult material. But sometimes I jump ahead of myself just to reassure myself I may be able to eventually learn the more advanced stuff. I really like the idea of going back to basics and getting a solid grip on that, however.
