Through SSTI member Marilyn Luber, I've been getting deeper and deeper into the EMDR and TFT loop. In November, Francine Shapiro, Marilyn, and I will meet to discuss some of these issues, and next summer I will do a full day of teaching at the EMDR annual meeting. For the moment, I think that these therapies serve as descripting agents when they produce deep change, and that their effect on discrete symptoms involves what Tomkins called (in his discussion of anger, AIC/Vol III) the fine-graining of an affect.

Thanks for your kind words. I've been on BOL since it started a year and a half ago, and it takes me just as much gumption to write something as it does you.
