I have a day dream -- that the president announces he's going into therapy and gives the nation a truly historic lesson -- on the madness all of us deal with and how to truly have courage facing it to become a post-modern man. How wonderful Mark McGwire is being celebrated for having undergone years of therapy "to become the loving, caring man, teammate and father he is now." As a shy rookie a dozen years ago he hit 49 home runs, but couldn't handle the fame and women, and ruined his first marriage. But he did the work, his first wife and and even the baseball world openly admire the courage of his inward journey, which sadly the political world still "shrinks" from. Now that's a hero. What a chance Clinton has to take us on the millenial hero's journey, inside, a brainy beowulf. Doubt he'll do it. Guess we'll have to settle for Paul Bunyon for now.
