    Can EMDR cause Hallucinations?
Prefer Unknown · 4/21/00 at 11:32 pm ET

I underwent an EMDR session the other day which caused much disturbance within. I seen, heard, felt, a part that was not human. I this possible, or did the EMDR cause a hallucinating effect? How can one have a non-human entity within them? I'm thinking EMDR is causing unrealistic images, pictures, thoughts. Are there any reports, studies, etc., of EMDR causing hallucinations to the client? I'm aware this is an EMDR site, but I believe it is "full" of respected, ethical professionals, so I would assume you would be upright and honest. Have others experienced sensations, images, that were not reasonable, understandable? Thank you for your time.
