I have always considered praising a young child's efforts as being sound practice. I am now faced with new information that questions this approach. Although I do see the implications of a child potentially "needing" outside affirmation for his/her sense of self worth...how do we foster a young child's esteem without using praise? Thanks in advance for any responses.
