MEDITATION IN PSYCHOTHERAPY FORUM ARCHIVE
 Re: Kundalini Psychosis
Hello,
I am new to this site and these messages on Kundalini Psychosis triggered a memory. I worked for a number of years on an adult inpatient psychiatric unit. A young man was admitted in an acutely psychotic state. He required seclusion and made a suicide attempt while in seclusion by holding a pen to his chest and running into the wall. It was reported that he had been practicing Kundalini meditation and 'some' were attributing his psychosis to this practice. I believe the patient himself believed this. I don't remember other details but I am sure the professionals diagnosed him with a mental illness such as Schizophrenia or Bipolar Disorder. Just thought I would throw in this story.
