Actually, someone (I don't remember who) used the phrase way long ago, in one of the initial disucssions in this forum... I was really, by my question, asking for additional information on what I assumed to be a recognized condition. Now, as for my general perception of meditation or spiritually "induced" psychosis I would refer you to John Nelson's book "Healing the Split" which discusses spiritual emergence vs emergency, chakra openings and personal development... etc etc. While I don't agree with all he says, it is an invaluable resource on the subject and he suggests some very good guidelines for distinguishing regressive vs progressive episodes, how they relate to developmental deficits and ego strength, etc (Nelson has several pages devoted to kundalini awakening/opening and it's clinical presentation as possible psychosis.) Fascinating subject, thanks for link, etc :)
