    Depersonalization/derealization and OCD
    Geoff Hutchinson · 08/01/01 at 3:20 ET

What type of technique is used to deal with transient and/or chronic depersonalization? Can a person with such a state be taught to learn to "accept" his or her condition, eventually ignoring it?

If OCD is a comorbid condition, do you think that the DP/DR is associated with distress arising from the OCD, or simply another symptom? Are there meditative techniques that can be used to treat both (e.g., intrusive thoughts)? Thanks.

    Geoff
