there are also two general methods in buddhist meditation
that of form and formlessness. the analytical meditation
where attention is focused on a subject and amplifies say
the commitment to change and awareness of the problem in ones life is the more common. in the ascent of mt. carmel
the author writes that the formless path is for adepts who have passed the need for focused practice.
