First I would like to apologize for the delay in response but my mother board went down (don't buy components at shows) and it took a few weeks to get repaired. I appreciate your compliment and back at you. I also like th concept of meaning being, in part, as a sum of a group of "like minded" individuals persuing a thread of understanding. I feel our discussion here is moving toward the mathmatical and I feel that this is a good direction to take when we are persuing truth as an abstract concept. Again, at a very micro level, I see truth energe at that synapse, if you will, or at that point at which the in itself enfolds the for itself and ,at this juncture, a certain degree of meaning or understanding emerges . This understanding yields meaning and thus is integrated by the for itself as knowledge. Without this integration there is no meaning and the information yielded is discarded as "non truth" but may be reintegrated by the individual in a future attempt to understand this in itself in the future (or as partial knowledge). This is whay Sartre didn't seem to understand and often referred to as meaninglessness (or the absurd). I have noted that French philosophers, in addition to often being egomanical, do not address the concept of "over time". Thus the abstract discussion breaks down as a compartmentalized truth or a truth for the moment. Sartre, due to geniusopia, did not refer to his cognitive antecedents such as Husserel which would have helped him better understand the impact of time on intellectual development. He would have also done well to refer to his German contempory, Hiediger, in this area. These issues notwithstanding, Sartre remains a Major player in modern thought. ................................................Pathology. at the micro level, and I must reference Kurt Lewin, appears to me to be the inability of the individual to integrate at the point that is aforementioned ( for itself = x in itself = y the point of synapse = x/y and the integration of this process = T or T(partial) or T(discarded) or T1/T2/T3. I am unclear as to the source of this deficiency but I have noted in my career as a social worker I have seen this often and particularly among the types of socio pathology that lead to extreme antisocial or criminal behaviors. Although my clinical approach is heavily steeped in rational emotive therapy I am not sure that in these cases that the problem is solely a perceptual one. I believe, and this is conjecture, it is more related to perspective (time/place/perspective continuum). So we are dealing with continuum or fluidity (et el TIME). I feel that a good deal of psychosocial morbidity is related to time and the individuals inability to integrate time into the understanding of reality. In conclusion, this time confusion or warp is a major player in contempory pathology but is also a reflection of our own modern day time preoccupation with linear time. Thus, time becomes the pivot on which rests our our ability or inability to integrate reality. ..........Your continued input valued...........Ed........................................................................................................* the x/y is actually the intersection of X/Y where X intersects meets Y.
