Conversion disorder

I have only had one patient with a conversion disorder - paralysis of the R hand with no organic lesion. The tack I used with him was that whilst there was nothing I could do about his hand perhaps we could meet weekly to explore his emotional difficulties. He agreed. At the next physiotherapy appointment, a week later, all his hand functions had recovered, and he failed to attend for his psychotherapy session.
