    Sexual Issues in Clinical Practice (Marty Klein)

    Announcing training/vacation opportunity
    by Marty Klein, Ph.D, 1/9/99

    Albert Einstein Medical School announces the 20th annual Cape Cod Institute this coming summer.
    Of particular interest to our readers is Diagnosis & Treatment of Sexual Issues: Counter-Intuitive Approaches.
    I will teach this daily from 9 AM-12:15 PM from July 12-16 in Cape Cod, MA.
    Topics to challenge and expand your clinical skills include:
    * Rethinking the sexual response cycle
    * The phenomenology of sex
    * Power dynamics in sexual relationships
    * The dynamics of desire
    * Variations such as S/M, cybersex, fetishes, group sex, etc.
    * Dealing with dysfunction: orgasm, erection, lubrication, etc.
    * How therapists disempower or empower patients around sex
    * How psychotherapy is often sex-negative
    * How the therapist's issues affect his/her work
    * Sexual aspects of health care

    The setting is gorgeous, the environment is informal, the course will be practical, and the instructor is
    gifted, experienced, and funny. Thanks to director Gil Levin, the whole setup is amazingly professional without being stuffy.
