I just recently finished teaching a course in OD through a local college. The text they recommended was being used for the first time for this senior-level class in Management and Human Resources. Here are the particulars:
"Organization Development, Behavioral Science Interventions for Organization Improvement, Fifth Edition" by Wendell L. French and Cecil H. Bell, Jr. Prentice Hall, ISBN 0-13-009374-2.
I'll warn you ahead of time, the authors spend lots of time talking about the history of OD and the various people associated with its development. There is good information about different OD interventions such as Team Interventions, Intergroup and third- party interventions, comprehensive and structural interventions. It goes into issues in consultant-client relationships as well as system ramifications and power and politics in OD. Chapter 14 talks about entry and contracting, defining the client system, diagnosis and appropriate interventions and a variety of other subjects concerning things the consultant needs to be familiar with.
I' d like to know what you think of it. Good luck
