I am conducting a research project involving the assessment and treatment of high-risk mother-child dyads. As part of the project, our research team is creating a measure of mother-child interaction. The measure involves videotaping the dyads as they engage in semi-structured tasks.
I am reviewing the literature in this area, and have found few measures that involve rating mother-child (children ages 4- to 5-years old) interaction. In particular, we are interested in the domains of self and other concepts, affect, and attunement/empathy.
Please let me know if you know of any measures in this area. The few I have found have not been shown to be psychometrically reliable or valid.
Thank you,
