Thanks to Maxi and Brian for some common sense, after such homophobic ignorance posted by others. My goodness, I thought this was a forum for mental health professionals? If such obnoxiousness and misunderstanding about the reality of gay and lesbian life today is coming from counsellors or psychologists, then we are in trouble.

Homosexuality, sexuality, heterosexuality: all wonderful aspects of living life authentically and vibrantly. As a gay man, and a mental health professional, I am shocked and offended by the stupidities posted here in response to my original post about sexual compulsion. But then again, this confirms my theory - that sexual compulsion can indeed be fueled by societal oppression.
