I do not believe that words typed on the screen can be found to be "hurtful" Unlike talking to a stranger on the phone you cannot 'hear'the tone of the words or there implications. You form images of the person by what you are reading and certainly pre-judge them by what they are saying but the reality of the cyberspace talking is that at any time you can be as bold/rude/abusive/impertinent etc.as you deem fit BECAUSE they cannot hear you, they cannot see you.It enables the individual to be as bold and brave as they want without feeling bad as to whats been read or said. This of course will change when video telephones come on the market, but thats not cyberspace-is it?
