Look out for a specialist Anxiety disorders unit.
If there is none in your area I would look for a psychologist with an interest in behavioural psychotherapy. This form of treatment is really exciting.
Drugs should be avoided as much as possible. Sure if your child is depressed, an antidepressant is warranted but there should be a specific reason for introducing new medication. I don't like using benzodiazepines due to their addictive nature in the long term and it becomes a real crutch. They can also impact on learning ability and laying down of new memory.
Some general/family practitioners have an interest in psychotherapy and this may also be an option
