As I consider the issue of power in organizations (or perhaps organization as an expression of political power), I'm curious about what is going on with power, politics, and the virtual organization. When social networks are distributed over time, geography, and now space, what happens to politics as the expression of power (symbolically, reputationally, representationally, etc)? I have no answers, only questions. Also, how will virtual organizations change the role of the OD professional - will our practices evolve to more "empowering" individuals rather than towards changing social systems? Virtually curious... Mike Horne
