Hi, I am a new reader of this forum and noticed your request. Can I suggest a couple of things and then try to answer your questions. One is the word "charter", which implies you have responsibility for this org change. Does your contract with the key line managers clearly state your role as adding value through training input and a part share of the responsibility? Also my sense of addressing your very real concerns about the social needs, etc., is that it is necessary to regard the change just as you expressed - an "evolution" that will have many non-linear aspects, many errors, small successes and will take probably three times longer than anyone envisages. Re research data, etc., yes there is some, however it is highly contextual in its applicability, i.e. we each have to find our own way within the unique cultures you work with. There are many "manuals" etc on the market to help you develop content and learn from others experiences, however IMHO your clarity of contract and mutual expectations is by far the most important first (and maybe continuous!) step. In my experience non-one within the client system really new what was involved with such a step to autonomous teams, and by definition this demanded a whole bunch of education for the drivers of the change. Good luck - I think it is an honourable and courageous endeavour that you are within. Cheers, Tony
