I have a comment about Aubrey Daniels' book "Bring out the Best in People" cited in the previous posting. I thought one of the most interesting topics was Chapter 21 "Maximizing Learning - The Fluency Model." The concept is to encourage overlearning by emphasizing speed rather than accuracy during training. Daniels states that people will not become fluent in a technique if they are afraid of making mistakes. While I agree with this concept, it is a difficult training approach to implement in an analytical instrument laboratory, for example. I would appreciate some comments from people who have successfully used the Fluency Model as an industrial training technique. Fiona Geiser, Ph.D. fionageiser@msn.com
