I am so pleased Vic, that you are sharing your ideas with us. I want to understand them and believe that we will all benefit from the exchange.

I do not understand the separation between loving and development- would it be like the love of oneself and the love of another - the personal development and the relational path? Your fire survivor is asking a profound question about the value and meaning in his life- I am not sure if he is wanting to feel free to find another livelihood or make a contribution to the world but feels blocked in some way. His fate was to be saved- it raises questions for him about for what purpose- is this a developmental concern?
