It appears to me that evolutional psychology is, more or less, a fly by the seat of your pants discipline. A new body of thought needs creative vitality not rules and restrictive criteria. Let me throw another one at you. The pre European invasion native american Indian was primarily Plains dwellers who were existentially tribal nomadic. I think it is difficult for the white man (myself included) to realize that we lived in a very similar fashion preceeding and probably through the Dark Ageis. This includes tribe from which many of us can trace our origins. Examples would include: Germanics, Celtic, Anglo, Saxon, Goths Visigoths, Gaulists, Viking, Vandals (including Martha sic), Huns, etc. Why is it so difficult for many of us to realize that the nature of this type of existence still impacts on us today? The vestiges of history are not so easily shed! I suggest that within our genes (or is it Levi's) there are still elements of instinctive behavior that effect and influence the way in which we percieve, conceptualize, and behave. I further suggest that we are so intent to repress these instincts, given our Judeo/Christian heritage, that we forget that we were once as we always are (Native American quote source unknown/possible Chief Joeseph(Nez Perse Tribe). Finally, I would recommend that we use the word Evolutional Social Psychology for I think it better reflects the intentions of this intellectual endeavor. Looking forward to your response.............Ed
